This imposing Essex farmhouse demonstrates that it is possible to replace draughty, single glazed windows with high performance double glazed products and retain the historical sightlines. In fact, this quality renovation, using Lomax + Wood’s made-to-order range of conservation area approved wooden windows and doors, required the replacement of single glazed wooden windows and poor modern replacements. The overall effect was to restore the fine period sightlines using elegant glazing bars while ensuring the property met up to date thermal and acoustic standards.
