Made-to-order timber casement windows and doors from the Kensington & Chelsea range by Lomax + Wood have been specified by an award-winning development company for an exceptional new build property in Surrey.

Providing over 6,200sqft of generous accommodation ranging over three floors, designed with open plan living space, this gated plot on the edge of Walton village makes a highly desirable home. Featuring large Georgian-style Kensington & Chelsea double glazed flush timber casement windows throughout, the property benefits from masses of natural light and lends period style to the beautifully proportioned room heights.

“There have been many traditional construction elements specified in this smart house, from handmade clay tiles and bricks to elegant chimney designs, natural stone surround fireplaces and fully integrated intelligent 21st century systems,” says Chris Wood, managing director, Lomax + Wood.

“Together with our Georgian-style flush casements, which look fabulous with the natural stone cill detail, the whole project is a mix of old and new which aesthetically works very well together.”

The extensive specification of Kensington & Chelsea double glazed casement windows includes single, double and triple window configurations with a variety of opening options and fixed panels.

This comprehensive range also includes a variety of door types including entrance doors, French doorsets and bi-folding doors as well as single side access doors.  This stunning property features most products with a rich mix of Georgian-style French doorsets that open from the lounge on to the terrace and garden; a non-bar, four leaf bi-folding door, with ovolo moulding, links the open-plan kitchen to the terrace, as well as a fully glazed external single door from the utility room and a solid planked door providing convenient garage access from the rear.

The made-to-order solid timber entrance door, with raised and fielded panels, was also designed and manufactured by Lomax + Wood and is flanked either side with non-bar, fixed double glazed panels.  These have added valuable light to the impressive 30ft long picture-perfect entrance hall from which all the reception rooms lead off.  All Kensington & Chelsea doors feature Heritage Locking System ironmongery which has been tested to Secured by Design standards for maximum security.  This entrance door has been finished with high-quality chrome ironmongery as standard and alternative designs and finishes can be selected as an optional extra.

Lomax + Wood excel in providing a full suite of coordinated products, of exceptional quality, that provides high thermal and acoustic performance.  The company uses only clear-grade, sustainably sourced timber in its manufacturing processes which is engineered for strength and stability.  All products are internally glazed for improved aesthetics and security, and unlike mass produced timber windows and doors, Lomax + Wood do not use Swedish grooves on joints.  These are considered detrimental to the aesthetics of traditionally styled windows and doors and require a higher level of maintenance.

Products are delivered to site factory-finished with three coats of high quality, durable micro-porous paint or stain which is available in a choice of white and fashionable heritage colours, or in a dual-colour facility.
