In this stunning Essex project, Lomax + Wood supplied a blend of traditional timber and modern aluminium composite windows and doors, creating a striking balance between contemporary and traditional styling.
The installation featured eight made-to-order spring sash windows and two casement windows crafted from engineered European redwood with sapele hardwood cills. Completely bespoke, these timber windows brought a touch of heritage charm perfect for this beautiful Essex property. Authentic details including ovolo glazing bars and sash horns were included to help maintain period aesthetics, while thermally efficient double glazing will keep the interiors of this property comfortable for decades to come.
All timber used was fully FSC® Chain of Custody certified, ensuring full traceability throughout the entire supply chain and demonstrating our commitment to responsible forestry practices.
For a striking contemporary contrast, seven aluminium composite casement windows and three door sets were installed, featuring timber interiors in Signal White and external aluminium finishes in sophisticated Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016). This dual-material approach provides the warmth and natural beauty of timber inside whilst delivering low-maintenance durability on the exterior surfaces.
The entrance door, with its decorative obscured glass panels, creates an impressive threshold, whilst the timber French doors and two aluminium composite French doors establish effortless connections between interior and exterior spaces. Each element was completed with polished chrome ironmongery, adding refined detail to the installation.
