Case Study
Timber windows and doors for a beautiful country farmhouse
Lomax & Wood have supplied and installed timber windows and doors to a beautiful country farmhouse and adjacent garage with living accommodation above located in tranquil surroundings in the Essex countryside. Sympathetically restored to retain many of the features of the original farmhouse, the owners were keen to put back sash windows into the property to restore its original character.
Kensington & Chelsea spring balance sash windows add to the traditional appeal of this property. Set in a flush reveal they are designed with historically accurate sightlines and fine detailing and are internally glazed for enhanced aesthetics and security. Kensington & Chelsea sash windows are also available with cords and weights operation. The replacement double glazed windows had to replicate the existing sightlines of the original windows but meet an acoustic rating of 38dB.
The properties also feature traditional planked effect doors with insulated panels. Kensington & Chelsea entrance doors meet Part L Building Regulations and incorporate a turn-key espagnolette which has been tested to PAS24 standards. They incorporate the security-enhancing features of the Lomax + Wood Heritage Locking System. French doorsets have been selected for this property allowing maximum light and easy access to the rear rose gardens and featuring espagnolette locking.
